In this new series we're presenting contemporary graphic design from different parts of the world. The fourth and latest volume in the series is dedicated to Australia and New Zealand. Thanks to the region's proximity to eastern Asia, the predominantly western imagery which most of these designs are firmly rooted in, is enriched by Asian and exotic elements. This combination leads to some rather unexpected and unorthodox results. Thus, "Down Under" is a collection of designs which appear both familiar and strange at the same time.
Wrap it up, unwrap it again. Every day we all have to deal with packaging in one form or another.
Therefore, we’ve collected the best works in the field of package & label design – realized or not – in 2D, 3D, as a photo or just as a sketch. How would you wrap it up?
“Pattern Design” features an abundance of patterns of all kinds and dimensions. They're all brand new, they're inspired and inspiring, they're original, decorative, funny, pretty, unusual, flashy or subdued, vintage or totally modern. We've collected new patterns in every conceivable form.
This time, the focus lies on patterns.
The third volume of the series is dedicated to an entire continent: Asia. The selected designs originate from regions all over the continent, from Israel in the west to Japan in the far east. They represent an enormous diversity of styles, scripts, forms and visual languages. Recurring motivs are floral images and ornaments, while architecture – a dominating element in so many European designs – is almost absent. Nature, faces, script and myth play an important part in many works. It's a fascinating visual journey!
For this new title we've asked designers from all over the world to contribute their latest works, regardless if these are sketches, prototypes or objects already in serial production. Therefore, “NEW PRODUCT DESIGN” is a kaleidoscope of current international design.
Nude photography used to be synonymous with female nudes. Only gradually have photographers discovered the male body both as an object of desire. This volume offers a sumptuous collection of gorgeous male nudes, celebrating the male physique in all its beauty.
In the wide field of design, the designing of textiles is regarded as a special discipline. It requires a deeper understanding of the technical side of the production of textiles as well as a specific knowledge of each fabric, of its uses, its properties and characteristics (dyes, fibres and colourings). “New Textile Design” covers the many and various forms of the discipline. It includes clothing, caps, shoes, scarves, bags and appliqués, bedclothes, upholstery and lampshades. Even textile trinkets and other accessories are featured on the following pages.
The collected designs range from central motifs (on t-shirts, for instance) to patterns which often have to compete with the visible structures of the fabric. Additionally, the very form and manner of the presentation can become an interesting part of the work. Thus, we've included everything from sketches to elaborately staged photos.
Motives, patterns, textures - “New Textile Design” covers the whole range of soft goods.
Fashion is everywhere, it's short-lived, it's superficial, it's addictive. What could be a better field for a designer to let their creativity run riot? Especially since fashion design means so much more that „just“ clothing in the narrowest sense. Therefore, „Great New Fashion Design“ includes clothes, accessories, hats, ties, bags, jewelry, watches, hairstyles, shoes etc etc.
We've assembled a multitude of brand new works from all around the globe in the form of photos, drawings, sketches, computer graphics, collages, even manga-style illustrations. Thus, „Great New Fashion Design“ not only documents current aesthetic trends and styles, it is also an impressive compilation of techniques. It's both about WHAT you do and HOW you do it. The styles are just as diverse – ranging from nostalgic, retro sixties, retro seventies, retro eighties styles to contemporary urban and even futuristic.
There's a lot to discover on these pages. Browse and enjoy.
